The Equality Act 2010 was passed on 8 April 2010 and comes partly into force in October 2010.
The relevant sections dealing with employment, equal pay and services will come into force in October 2010 and guidance is due to be published in July 2010 with a draft code of practice to be laid before parliament in June 2010.
The sections relating to education will also come into force in October 2010 but the sections dealing with public sector equality duty will not come into force until April 2011 and the sections dealing with age protection outside the workplace are not expected to come into force until as long away as April 2012.
